"have truck, will travel"

OUR BEGINNINGS WERE HUMBLE

"HAVE TRUCK, WILL TRAVEL." That was the slogan on the side of founder Henry "Red" Torromeo's 1955 F-800 Ford Dump Truck when he began hauling sand and gravel to his myriad customers throughout the Merrimack Valley of Massachusetts in 1958.

The locale of his first office? His mother's East Haverhill Street home in Lawrence, Massachusetts. A lot has changed since then.

Today, Torromeo Industries, Inc. and Kingston Red T Mix are headquartered in two sprawling facilities in Methuen, MA and Kingston, NH.
A company that was initially run by Henry and his wife, Janice, has over 75 employees and utilizes, on a six-days-a-week basis, some of the most sophisticated equipment to test and produce the different types of environmentally-friendly sand, gravel, and concrete materials that are serving to build and construct some of the most cutting-edge commercial and residential properties throughout the region.

And those resources are being delivered by some of the most high-tech vehicles used in the industry, which in our case consists of 38 Oshkosh Front Discharge Cement Mixers, which make the jobs of your project supervisors and construction engineers a lot easier to complete at the point of delivery.

Recycling

Concrete can be reused and recycled by as an aggregate in new concrete mixtures. Concrete is recycled by crushing and screening demolished concrete for reuse in new construction projects.

Urbanite is a term referring to old broken pieces of concrete that are left over from a construction demolition. Urbanite is now used as a re-purposed and sustainable building material incorporated into building projects in new ways such as walkways, patios, retaining walls and other outdoor structures. Installation of urbanite is similar to installing stone or pavers.

Environment

Recycling concrete greatly impacts the environment by saving more than 140 million tons that would otherwise end up in landfills across the United States.

Torromeo takes part in preserving the environment by minimizing impact and restoring affected areas. While there are many environmental advantages to working with concrete we are careful of the products we manufacture to ensure they leave behind only a small footprint. By carefully estimating concrete quantities we can ensure efficiency and reduce waste. By reusing and recycling concrete, which is a durable and energy efficient building material, we reduce transportation fuel and handling costs.

Concrete is composed of water, aggregate, and cement. Quarries are the primary source of raw materials and this land can easily be reclaimed because extraction of it has virtually no byproducts and often restored to it's natural state.
